Regular Meeting of February 22, 2016
South Hero Town Hall, Monday 7:00 PM

Others Present: Sharon Roy, Town Clerk. Martha Taylor-Varney, Administrative Assistant. Also see sign in sheet.
1. Called to Order:
-The meeting was called to order by Chairman Shaw at 7:00 pm.
2. Adjustment to Agenda:
-Add: Plan for Town meeting to other business
– Anne Zolotas made a motion to accept the minutes of the meeting of February 8, 2016 as written. The motion was seconded all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.

5. New Business:
A. Camp Takumta believes that they should be real estate tax exempt. They have already appealed to the Listers, then the Board of Civil Authority. Lister Cecile Gove did not attend the meeting, but left information that Camp Takumta plans to file an appeal for a real estate tax exemption to the Superior Court. The Town will probably be served in the near future.
B. The White’s Beach ordinance was last changed in 2014 and is in good order. All of the proper procedures were completed, but it was not filed in the Town office. It will be filed, and will then be in full effect.
6. Old and Ongoing Business:
A. South Street reconstruction project from Landon to Martin Roads updates: Consulting engineer Evan Detrick left a message that the bid documents may not be ready until May 2016. He advised that the Town should possibly wait to get bids. Martha will contact Senator Mazza to see if it the process can be sped up.
B. The final draft of the mediation for the Dennis and Charlene Johnson tax appeal is being completed.
7. Administrative Assistant Report:
A. A written report was submitted. A hard copy with discussion points can be seen in Town Hall.
B. Martha will be out March 14-17, so there will not be zoning office hours then.
8. Other Business:
A. Skip Brown made a motion to sign the order #16-18 and pay the bills associated with said order. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
B. Carol Tremble made a motion to sign the liquor license renewals for Blue Paddle Bistro. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
C. Ilmar Vanderer of Lighthouse Estates submitted a letter asking if the Town is interested in joining their application for a State Shoreland Protection permit for the removal of the old railroad berm on their property on Route 2 (roughly across from Sunset View Rd.). At this time, the Town is not interested in applying for a permit to remove part of the berm.
D. The Town meeting informational meeting is Saturday February 27. The School Board goes first at 9:00 am and the Town portion will follow when the School portion is over.
-Skip Brown made a motion to adjourn 7:50 pm. The motion was seconded all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
